Burbank Sportscards Partners with Fanatics Collect in Exclusive Agreement

Burbank Sportscards, a key player in the sports card market, has made a significant move by partnering with the newly launched Fanatics Collect. With an extensive inventory of 40 million sports cards, this exclusive agreement is expected to revolutionize the trading card industry.

Known for their dominance on eBay since 2003 and their substantial presence on the Beckett Marketplace since 1999, Burbank Sportscards has established itself as a major seller in the card trading community. The decision to collaborate with Fanatics Collect comes after careful consideration, with plans to list cards alongside merchandise on the platform.

Chris Lamontagne, president of Fanatics Collect, expressed excitement about working with Burbank Sportscards, citing Rob Veres, the owner, as a top choice for collaboration. The decision to partner was solidified after Lamontagne visited Burbank Sportscards and witnessed firsthand the potential for a successful business relationship.

The owner of Burbank Sportscards, Rob Veres, views this partnership as a prime opportunity for growth and expansion. While acknowledging the challenges of moving away from eBay, he sees the partnership as a necessary leap of faith towards a new chapter for the business. The goal is to offer a wide selection of cards representing various players and teams on the Fanatics platform.

To accommodate the listing of 40 million cards on Fanatics Collect, Burbank Sportscards is transitioning to a larger 14,000-square-foot facility. The new space will feature in-store kiosks for customers to order cards on-demand, providing a seamless shopping experience. Additionally, Burbank plans to handle its own fulfillment rather than relying on Fanatics for shipping.

The integration of all cards onto the Fanatics platform will be facilitated by Burbank’s advanced inventory system. Customers can expect to see cards appearing on the platform within the next month, with exclusivity offered to in-store purchases for a short period before being listed online. The anticipated growth in demand may lead to an expansion of Burbank’s current team to accommodate the increased workload.

Rob Veres envisions a future where Burbank Sportscards plays a significant role in curated card drops and becomes a key player in upcoming Fanatics events. He sees this partnership as an opportunity to break through the limitations of previous marketplaces and reach a global audience of sports fans.

Fanatics Collect and Burbank Sportscards share ambitious goals for the partnership, focusing on attracting new customers and achieving continuous sales growth. With plans to expand the inventory to include high-end cards, Burbank aims to broaden its market reach and appeal to collectors worldwide. The partnership signifies a step towards a new era in sports card trading, marking a collaboration that is poised for long-term success.
