Exciting Sports Card Releases to Keep Collectors Busy Indoors

As the weather turns harsh across much of the nation, collectors of contemporary hobby items will need to buckle down for some indoor activity. The next few weeks are bringing a range of exciting new releases to local hobby shops and online retailers, including breakers. Here’s a peek at what’s coming up:

SAGE Low Series Football (January 12, 2024): Perfect for football card enthusiasts, SAGE Low Series Football is notable for its early arrival. Despite lacking team logos, this pre-draft release features a host of autographed cards. Each box contains 16 packs, with an autograph and seven cards in total. Look out for the new SP Kaleidoscope Autographs and on-card signatures in the Next Level autograph cards. Hobby boxes are selling for under $130 on eBay, with blaster boxes also available.

2022-23 Upper Deck ICE Hockey: While still branded for the previous season, the 2022-23 Upper Deck ICE Hockey is now available. Each box offers 12 packs with six cards, usually including an autograph or memorabilia card. Noteworthy features include hard-signed Ice Premieres Auto and Auto Patch cards, as well as a 250-card base set. Signature Swatches cards add a unique element with a hard-signed autograph and game-worn jersey swatch. These boxes are going for around $125.

Bowman’s Best Baseball (January 17, 2023): Focusing on prospects and rookies, Bowman’s Best Baseball offers 12 packs per Hobby box, spread over two mini-boxes. Each box guarantees at least three Chrome autograph cards. This year’s edition also features an insert set by Hall of Famer Randy Johnson. The best eBay price for these boxes is currently $289. Also releasing on the same day is 2023 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball.

Topps Stadium Club Baseball (January 24, 2023): Finally hitting the market after a delay from its original October release, Topps Stadium Club Baseball is known for its photo-focused 300-card base set. The set comes in two Hobby box versions, with Hobby boxes available for $148. The same day will also see the release of 2023-24 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey, which promises two autograph and/or memorabilia cards per box.

2023-24 Panini Donruss Basketball (January 26): This release features fat packs and Rated Rookies. Hobby boxes contain ten packs, each with 30 cards, including one autograph. Basketball enthusiasts will also be excited about the 2023 Panini Phoenix Football, where boxes contain two autos, one memorabilia card, and various other collectibles. Online prices range from $300-$350.

With all these exciting releases on the horizon, collectors of sports cards have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks. Whether you’re a fan of football, hockey, baseball, or basketball, be sure to mark your calendars and get ready to add some new gems to your collection.
