CGC Cards and JSA Introduce Seamless Autographed Card Services

Collectors and dealers in the world of autographed cards have something to celebrate as CGC Cards™ and James Spence Authentication® (JSA®) join forces to provide a streamlined experience for submitting autographed cards for authentication and grading. Whether it’s trading card games (TCGs), sports cards, or non-sports cards, this dynamic partnership has collectors covered.

The collaboration, officially announced by the Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®) ahead of the National Sports Card Convention, became available on July 15, 2024. This innovative service allows collectors to submit their autographed cards for JSA authentication and CGC Cards grading and encapsulation all through one convenient process.

Building on the success of the CGC x JSA certification for comics launched in May, CCG’s acquisition of JSA earlier this year has paved the way for expanded autograph authentication services. The future holds the promise of combined authentication and grading for other collectibles such as magazines, pulps, and concert posters.

To make the most of the thriving card collecting community at The National Sports Card Convention, CGC x JSA certification services for cards will be available during the event. Collectors and dealers can take advantage of on-site services, ensuring that their cards are authenticated, graded, and encapsulated efficiently.

CGC is known for pioneering witnessed signature authentication with its CGC Signature Series for comics back in 2001. Now, with the imminent launch of the CGC Signature Series for cards, autograph enthusiasts can access a comprehensive suite of services through the expertise of both CGC and JSA.

Established in 2005 by James Spence, Jr., JSA has earned its reputation as the premier autograph authentication service worldwide. With nearly 1 million images in its autograph database, JSA combines extensive resources and cutting-edge technology to provide accurate authentication for collectors.

Autographed cards certified by CGC and JSA will sport a unique CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label. This label, featuring both brand names and a distinctive yellow “Authentic Autograph” designation historically used by CGC, also allows for autograph grading upon request. The label prominently displays the autograph grade alongside the card’s grade and description, with CGC Cards Grader Notes providing additional details about the signers.

For top-tier cards, CGC Cards offers the prestigious gold CGC x JSA Pristine 10 label reserved for cards that achieve the highest CGC Pristine 10 grade. This label signifies excellence and ensures collectors receive the best of the best.

Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, noting the significant impact it has had in 2024. James J. Spence, Jr., President of JSA, expressed his delight at launching combined services for cards at The National, fulfilling a request collectors have had for almost two decades.

To learn more about submitting cards for CGC x JSA certification, collectors can reach out to the CGC Cards website. Submissions can be completed through the online submission form, where collectors can select “JSA Autograph Authentication” after choosing their grading tier. The pricing for JSA autograph authentication is tier-based, with additional CGC Cards grading fees where applicable.

CGC and JSA are dedicated to providing collectors with top-notch services, ensuring that each submission is handled meticulously and professionally. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the collectibles industry and promises to elevate the collecting experience for enthusiasts worldwide.
