Topps Unveils Tom Brady’s Unique Baseball Card in 2023 Bowman Draft

Topps, the renowned sports card company, is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection, and they’re making waves by featuring none other than former NFL star Tom Brady. Known for his exceptional talent in football, Brady’s appearance on these baseball cards is a surprising and exciting move.

Before his illustrious football career, Tom Brady was a multi-sport athlete in high school, excelling in both football and baseball. The unique cards in the 2023 Bowman Draft collection pay tribute to Brady’s baseball aspirations, with him seen wearing a Montreal Expos jersey. These cards commemorate Brady’s selection by the Expos in the 18th round of the draft, before he ultimately decided to pursue football at the University of Michigan.

Among the 2023 Bowman Draft cards featuring Brady, there will be a special series of 81 autographed cards. To enhance the excitement surrounding this release, Topps has teased fans with an amusing video. While we await the video’s release, glimpses on social media have already piqued interest. One card, in particular, has made waves with its witty inscription. The card hints at Brady’s alternate sports path, humorously suggesting that if baseball didn’t work out, football was always an option. Additionally, a French inscription pays homage to the Montreal Expos, adding a touch of nostalgia.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of this collection is an autographed card numbered 12/50, a nod to Brady’s iconic jersey number. This limited edition card is already creating a buzz in the sports card market, with a private collector offering a staggering $500,000 for it. Another card to watch out for is the rare 1-1 SuperFractor auto card, which is sure to create a bidding frenzy among collectors.

What makes Brady’s inclusion in this baseball collection even more intriguing is the fact that he holds the distinction of being the last Montreal Expos draft pick to retire from professional sports. After the 2004 season, the Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., and were rebranded as the Nationals. Brady’s appearance on these cards serves as a nostalgic reminder of a bygone era in baseball history.

For collectors eagerly awaiting the release of the 2023 Bowman Draft, there will be two formats available: Hobby and Jumbo. The Hobby version will include three autographed cards per box, while the Jumbo version is the ultimate treasure trove for collectors, offering five autographed cards. The official release date for the collection is set for Tuesday, December 12th. However, some lucky buyers have already stumbled upon these cards, with Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona unveiling a non-signed Tom Brady card. Additionally, autographed cards featuring Brady have already started appearing on popular auction sites like eBay, much to the excitement of fans and collectors alike.

The inclusion of Tom Brady in the 2023 Bowman Draft collection has certainly added an unexpected twist to the world of baseball cards. Whether you’re a football fan, a baseball enthusiast, or a passionate collector, these unique cards present a rare opportunity to own a piece of sports history and celebrate the remarkable career of one of the greatest athletes of all time.
